Hyaluronic Acid Classification And Selection Guide For Different Parts

01. Effects and characteristics of hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid, also known as hyaluronic acid, is one of the main matrix components of the epidermis and dermis of human skin. Hyaluronic acid originally exists in the skin and is a transparent colloidal substance. It is responsible for storing water, increasing skin volume, and making the skin look full, plump and elastic. Hyaluronic acid was first extracted from chicken combs, human umbilical cords and animal eyeballs, but it is currently mostly prepared by bacterial fermentation.

Hyaluronic acid has unique viscoelasticity, hygroscopicity, thickening, good biocompatibility and lubrication. While lubricating the eyeball and joint cavity, it has the effect of promoting anti-inflammatory and repair. It is widely used in the treatment of arthritis, dry eyes, etc., moisturizing and thickening of cosmetics, and food and health care fields.

However, hyaluronic acid is more widely used in the field of medical beauty, such as soft tissue filling and shaping, face and neck wrinkle removal, skin water light, etc. Its stability and compatibility with the human body are good, so it is a safe and natural skin filling material.

As we age, our skin loses its ability to store water, and becomes loose, dry, rough, dull, sunken, flat, and aging. Exogenous supplementation is needed to restore our youth.

Hyaluronic acid is known as the “moisturizing gold” of the skin and is an important substance for maintaining plump and supple skin. How to choose hyaluronic acid depends on your specific needs, whether it is skin care and hydration, filling and shaping, micro-filling and wrinkle removal, or large-dose contour fixation, and then choose different types of hyaluronic acid according to your specific needs.

02. Classification of hyaluronic acid/selection of hyaluronic acid for different parts

(1)crosslinking/uncrosslinked

Non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid is 100% sodium hyaluronate, does not contain cross-linking agent, is absorbed faster, and lasts for a shorter time.

Cross-linked hyaluronic acid is formed by the bridge of cross-linking agent, firmly combined together, with strong support, making the stability of hyaluronic acid stronger, not easy to metabolize and absorb, so the maintenance time is longer, generally ranging from several months to about a year.

(2)Monopolyaluronic acid/Biphasic hyaluronic acid

Single-phase hyaluronic acid: smooth and uniform texture, like jelly. Strong resistance to displacement and deformation. Suitable for shallow filling, such as nose base, nasolabial folds, apple muscles, mouth wrinkles, true eye wrinkles and other parts that need to be frequently moved.
Single-phase hyaluronic acid has good tissue compatibility, and the degree of mutual acceptance and fusion with surrounding tissues after filling is higher. It has different G value (hardness) and cohesion (resilience) ratios and can be applied to multiple parts of the face.
Biphasic hyaluronic acid: composed of cross-linked particles mixed with non-cross-linked liquid, like sago, suitable for deep plasticity, such as chin, nose filling and other infrequently moving parts.
It has a higher hardness and has different molecular size types to choose from when applied to different medical beauty needs.
However, it has poor tissue compatibility and does not have the cohesion to resist diffusion.

(3)Micromolecule/Middle molecule/Macromolecule

The texture of hyaluronic acid with different molecules is different, and their functions and applicable parts are also different.
